Licensed Engineer Minimize

Since 1st of January 2006, who performs home inspection shall have Inspection license from State of New York. Licensed Professional Engineers are excluded form Inspection Licensure requirement because of their rich background of training and experience.

Professional Engineer License

Professional Engineer License is the New York State License, just like doctors or lawyers. Licensed Professional Engineer must have 18 years of official experience and pass 2 rigorous exams administrated by the State. A Licensed Professional Engineer is bounded by a strict code of ethics. They often put PE after their names like doctors.

Why Consultation by a Professional Engineer?

  • He or she has a minimum confirmed years of training and experience.
  • He or she can evaluate unusual building conditions
  • It is conflict of interest for Professional Engineer to be contractor at the same time; hence, he or she can provide you with the best advisement or consultation without having any benefits in it.
  • He or she works individually
Contractors and Licensed Professional Engineers
When people face a problem in their house, they may call a contractor for free estimation or fixing it. This seems to save the cost of Consulting with a Professional Engineer. However, contractors have limited experience outside of their field of job and profession. For instance, a plumber may not know any thing about the electrical problems of your Boiler and there waste your time and money; on the other hand contractors usually find work to do benefit financially.
